Main Event, Santa Pod, 300mph,
Discussion
Was thinking about going tomorrow, but the weather is just too uncertain to justify it. From dipping in and out of the updates on Eurodragster.com, it seems there was a rain delay from 10am to about 5pm today! I've sat through a few long oil and rain delays at Santa Pod, but that takes some beating.
Some good times though - Hakan Nilsson ran 4.86/306.35mph on his first competitive outing in a top fuel car! Good stuff.

Sorry I didn't pop in to see you Slikk... Every time I was down your way, things looked a trifle busy!
Nice to see the new PB for the car..

I found you lot eventually (hiding in the corner?)as you were trundling up towards the pairing lanes on Sunday evening.
We were on target to do better still on Monday, but a plug lead fell off at the 1000 ft. Bu&&er. Next time.
How was your weekend?

Yeah.. we tend to get squeezed into the corner at Pod.. Doesn't help that there was 46 in the class at this event!
We made it down to the final 8, got knocked out in the quarter finals by Lee Huxley.. (who then went on to win the event)..
Chris ran a PB that absolutely came out of the blue, expecting a 9.88-90 ran a 9.75.. The new axle and brakes mean he can really stomp on the burnout and still stop before the blue line.. (tricky to do with the old granada calipers we had before the strange ones came along!)
So.. although we got knocked out, a great weekends racing!
There's a cracking shot of the rear of our car in the burnout on www.thebaldphotographer.com ... just dropped the chap a line to see if I can get a high res copy of it..
