I require a couple of rear tyres for the Chim and have found the FK 451's in the right size/speed rating. Has anyone fitted these to a Chim, if so what do you think about them. I know that a lot of the Cerb guys have run these tyres, if any of you are reading your thoughts are also appreciated.

David,

Hi I've also been looking at these tyres for my griff, though looking at the cerb forums they advise against the 512 model!!

Have done various searches for prices and have found this link to the manufacturer direct, prices look superb, but be aware they are updating the 451 to a newer tread pattern so there may be limited availabilty.

Interested to see what people post on this one

I have used them on other cars and they have been fantastic. Best budget tyre I have ever bought and I will get some for the daily drive when they need replacing. However I don't believe they make them in the right size tyre for the front wheel (205/55 ZR 15). Therefore you will not be able to get a matching set. Which is a shame or I would buy a set!

I fitted a pair last weekend - used them before hence the reason I spent ages trying to find them. I matched them up with some GSD2s F1s on the front and think I've finally found a fantastic combination.
The 451 has been replaced with the 452, but on speaking with the fitters (they specialise in performance tyres) the 452s are just as good.
If you can find some buy em, just as good if not better than the more expensive brands.

I have been using 451s - 225/45 ZR17 on the daily drivers (Vectra 2.5 and BMW 328)for years, been through many sets over this time. I think they are a brilliant tyre espescially at the price, terrific wet and dry grip and progressive break away. Havent tried them on the TVR as Im not sure they would match the Toyos for outright grip, though they would probably be more durable.

Cheers guys, from those replies I don't see any issues with having these fitted.

Zippee I too will matching them up with GSD2's on the front, had them fitted last year before all of the supply issues became apparent. The firm I have priced them up with is Topgear at £165 fitted for a pair of 245/45/ZR16.

That is lucky. I've currently got Dunlop SP9000's all round, but I don't know what I`m going to do when the fronts wear out. I`ll worry about that later!
