Good afternoon gentlemen. If your 6.5" and are slightly chubby will you fit in the CSL as an every day driver ok or will you not even get my lardy arse in the thing?

Many thanks

Well I don't know about the CSL, but the Porsche Recaro's are actually quite forgiving of those on the larger side of life.

Moreover, most of the people that I see in CSLs look like dwarfs, so either they are all dwarfs, or it's a lowriding seating position and there's plenty of headroom.

I'm a midget between 6'2" and 6'3" (depending on the temperature and time of day ) and they were fine for me. I think height will be less of an issue than whether you find the shoulder width comfortable.

I've got a CSL and I had been dreading my boss asking for a lift. He is over 6ft tall and must be 18 stone. I even told him that he would not fit and got a withering look from him for my concern.

Anyway, he fitted quite comfortably on a journey up the A1 from Baldock to Newark, and he even commented that the seats fitted him better than his DB9. He was also surprised how quick the CSL accelerated, especially from 90+.

Try one, but I suspect you will be OK.

Well I have conducted an experiment which proved conclusively that Porsche Recaros can accomodate a 6' tall, 22-stone passenger on a journey of at least 15 miles with a reasonable degree of comfort.

Its not the height nor the weught that are an issue its the width of your shoulders or more so your back side, I find theres a lot of pressure on my right thigh, I have now inserted a Sparco seat cushion (under the seat cover) that now raises me a tad (still retains the bucket shape) but is high enough for me not to have so much pressureon my right hip. I think its the right side only thats a problem because of the pedals.

Hope it helps.

I totally agree with last post.

At 5'9" and a broad 14 stone, R's fits comfortably, but shoulders are a different matter.
Short journeys are fine but i would struggle to use every day without ending up like the famous dude from notre dame.

Its the perfect machine for track type work, with @ 1 hour shifts. Deffo not a GT, continent cruiser.
Having said that, it's so good, it's coming to France for a week in May, rather than the Audi Diesel...

I`m a very short 6ft 4ins and around the 17 1/2 stone mark, the CSL seat fit good but on a long journey the narrow width of the top of the bucket seat gives you backache.
I with go for some wider Recaros in time.

day to day I put the passenger seat back cushion on my seat to opush ones back forward a little and hence reduce the issue of big shoulders having to bow in the seat.

as my hips are as slim as a supermodel and my stomach is flat and six packed I have no trouble there! I wish!

On long journeys the CSl i find is good in this set up, better than my recent RS6 buit not as good as the E39 m5 which is understandable. On the track the pad comes out!

Bodo,
what seat mounts do you require for fitting of GT3/2 seats to the CSL??

Cheers,
H.
