Hi all. Well unfortunately the time has come that I have to sell my beloved Tasmin. I didn't want to do this, but I now have no choice over the matter. The reason for selling is that I am currently off work with an ankle injury and I'm now only getting SSP. As I have no idea when I will be going back to work and have hardly any money coming in, the car will have to go 
Also I can no longer afford to run two cars
The worse part of this though is that I'm going to have to sell her for a very low price. There are 3 reasons behind this. First of all the car just will not start for some reason. She turns over, but that's it. This is despite the fact that she has got about 9 litres of fresh fuel in her and I recharged the battery over night, so I don't know why this is? Secondly she has no MOT or tax, because I literally cannot afford to get them for her. Lastly, I desperately need the money to help me out with my financial situation, as all other avenues have been closed to me.
I have had a great time with the Tasmin and will miss her greatly. However I will still be around on here and will be going to the BBWF.

Sorry to hear about your circumstances mate. Your finances are nobody's business but yours, but sometimes things can look blacker than they really are, and we are all prone to getting a little depressed at such times.
Looking back over my life, the worst decisions I've ever made have always ocurred when under similar pressure, so I would urge you to consider carefully before you sacrifice what is obviously a precious possession. I've seen your car, and it is a real beauty (similar to the one I had).
I'm sure there must be other guys on here who are close enough to pop round and offer a bit of help with the starting problem. I'm sure that would cheer you up straight away.
Of course cars can be replaced, but ones that you've put so much of yourself into shouldn't be given up without a fight.
Just give it a bit more thought, eh ?
The tax and MOT can wait, and once you're fit again, finances can be put right.

Sorry to hear that Mark. Maybe some kindly/knowledgable souls will be able to help you get her running so you can get a bit more money at least.
Keep your chin up mate, I know it seems c*ap at the moment, but things do have a habit of turning around eventually.

Same here, sorry to hear about your job and injury and like Graham said getting rid of the TIV may seem like the only solution at the moment but theres ALWAYS an alternative - For example what would you do if you had`nt got the Tasmin?
You`d HAVE to find an alternative!
Why not see if you can find THAT solution and hang on to your P & J?
I know its not easy when your strapped but surely worth some thought eh?

Marky old fella, your a good guy and I know you are always willing to help others Don't sell it unless you absolutely have to, we know what that motor means to you and you've put so much into Her to get it to such a great example of the model, you'r a credit to the Wedge Massive. If it must be sold at least let us help you get it sorted so that you get a fair price for it. I'm sure this forum is full of people that will spare a little time to help it a long. There can't be much wrong with the non starting issue.

Really sorry to hear of your situation. I'm also lacking earnings at the moment but there is no way my car is being sold. I'd rather go on the game first, not that I've got a great earning potential in that line

Thanks for all your kind words so far guys and girls. They are really appreciated and have cheered me up a little bit. Unfortunately I just cannot see anyway round this at the moment. I have just been signed off again for another month and things are getting pretty desperate. Went to the bank this morning to try and get a small overdraft, but they turned me down and didn't seem to want to help me any other way. Also I have got £60 in charges to come from them because two direct debits haven't gone out due to insufficient funds in my account. I cannot borrow any money from my mum and dad because they are not working and I cannot borrow any more off my friends, because I already owe them about £150.
As to why she is not starting, I don't really know what's going on there. All she does is turn over a few times and that's it. Also had a couple of backfires but nothing else. Even tried jump starting her with a 4 litre Chim, but that didn't work either It is probably something simple, but unfortunately I'm not very mechanically minded, so I don't know where to start or look?

Owing a few quid is not a hanging offence, so no need to panic just yet.
Most of these guys in their Tuscans, Porkers etc, owe a LOT more than you do, and could just as easily be out on their ear tomorrow. It's just a matter of keeping your nerve.

Thanks Graham. Unfortunately without going in to details on here, I owe a lot of money to different banks/lenders/people etc for different reason. At the moment, I am struggling to run my normal car (which I cannot lose) and have any money for myself. This is why I just can't see any way out of it and unfortunately the Tasmin is the only thing left that I can get some money from.

Mark, I really feel for you. Having taken three months to get a job when I was made redundant before Christmas, I know the pain you're going through. One thing I learned from owning a Wedge is that it's not just the car. When I posted my woes, like you, the amount of support I got was very uplifting. Unfortunately, I'm a long way from you (and my mechanical abilities are not up to much anyway) so I can't offer to help get it going. However, if someone can get it driveable I'll stand the MOT. Mail me via the site.
If the injury is work related you might be able to get some compensation - just a thought.

Thank you very much for your kind words and offer to help out with the MOT Don. If/once I have got the car going before I sell it, I would like to take up the offer if it is still available and it is ok with you.
Right a quick update for you all. I had a friend come round on Sunday and we managed to get the Tasmin started. She is running a bit rough though, but got a little bit better as she warmed up. We have come to the conclusion that hopefully all she needs is a new rota arm and distributor cap and possibly a tune up.
Unfortunately my situation hasn't improved and is getting slightly worse. Therefore I have now made an advert for her and put it in the classifieds I will still be around though and I should be at the BBWF.

If I go to the BBWF which is very likely you are welcome to ride shotgun in the 450, just let me know. Gutted for you having to sell the car. Let me know on the ride.
As I have found out in both my personel life and business life as one door shuts another bigger and better door always open, it always look very glum and as if there is no way forward or out of a current situation, but stick with it mate, beleive me there is and it will be good. Besides you will always have us on the forum
