how much does a clutch assembly cost for a 4.3 chimaera as i will be doing it myself, it has not started slipping yet but i was told by the specialist that has just serviced the car that the clutch is worn ,i have tried to make it slip but it just seems ok ,i am trying to sell the car but i think it may be the item on the service sheet about worn clutch that is putting buyers off even though it dont slip ,what can i do immaculate car very cheap price no serious buyers , apart from some dropping the price even lower which i think is just not on for such a nice car ..

The clutch is worn they said, by how much if it isn't slipping, what a stupid thing to put on the service invoice if the cars done 10k or 20k from new then the clutch is worn, i know you can see the clutch for wear thru the inspection hatch, seems like they are looking for extra business to me, what conclusion are they going to make next the shocks are worn , or the bushes are worn, or the diff clutches are worn etc, once a car has done 30k or 5 year old what isn't worn, it could last another 1k or 10k who knows, don't try slipping the clutch for no reason or you'll have to change it, by the way how long is a piece of string ?.

According the the service history my Chim (4.0l N reg 96) had it's first new clutch at 102k miles. I know it did 70k miles of mostly motorway driving in the last 4 years, but on the couple of times I drove with the old owner he didn't hang around! That seems pretty good for a clutch in this type of car.
