HELP ME PLEASE.... SUMMERS NEARLY HERE

I am having severe probs with electical problems and i think it may be the fuse box. So if there are any experts out there some clues would be great as I am now pullin my hair out ( that's after I've done the same to the dash, fuse box, wiring loom etc etc.)

1995 griff 500

2 brown live feeds are good to back of fuse box but red wire to ignition switch is dead. If i force feed the ignition switch with juice the beast works fine, fires up and runs great.

what feeds this red live, i had assumed that this should always be permanently live. as when ignition is switched on (with force fed juice to red wire)then the main ecu/ignition relay kicks in.

Who made the fuse box? was it made for someone elses standard car, seems to be made in ireland but has either spanish ot italian text molded into it. I have stripped it to check it and there doesnt seem to be much corrosion. but I| have now stuffed it. so need a replacement, anyone got one ..........HELP

Was fitted with a gemini immobiliser, which has been bypassed or does this actually control the permanent live feed to the ignition switch, i don't think it does as i seem to remember that even with the immobiliser on the ignition lights and instruments still fired up just not the pump and starter motor, please correct me if i am wrong.

spent last 4 weeks on this now and the weather is hotting up so I am getting frustrated. Any help appreciated

To be honest i am certainly no electrical expert as such!, but whenever i have cars in with electrical problems like yours just regard whats there and run a new feed in? i cant be doing with spending hours trying to find a fault when it be cured in 30 mins by running new wires in?

Someone had 'force fed' my ignition switch, but (no disrespect v8racing) I despise such bodges. The problem with the original wire turned out to be that when the car was built, in drilling a hole for a screw near the wiper motor, the drill bit had gone right through into the loom above the glove box, nearly severing the red 'live' ignition feed. Presumably over time it eventually btoke completely, until someone 'fixed' it.
As far as I could work out, the ignition live feed runs from the ignition switch back to the fuse box (where it is fused - important) and from there back to the battery.
If yours is the same problem as mine (I wouldn't imagine my car is alone seeing as they're all built roughly the same way) I'm afraid it's dash out to sort it properly. As a quick fix you could 'force feed' it - but if you never really found the problem, you can never really be sure you've got a solution.

It's VW on the early cars - don't know about yours.

thanks grifter, I have the dash out and have looked for damage and can't see any, main issue is that the red live from switch is good back to the fuse boze but both sides of the fuse are dead, Does anyone know if I am correct in thinking that this red live (fuse 12 I think) is fed internally from the fuse box from the two thick brown feeds or does it get returned via another relay from the immolibiser (gemini 2336 fitted). Power to fuse box is ok and lights etc all work, just things like ignition, boot release etc
