hey,
i have been searching far and wide for some good looking alloys for the cerb and am wondering what else other than Spiders look good on a cerb.
Has anyone got any pics of Cerbs with different alloys than spiders ?
also, if the cerb shocks havnt been lowered from standard-- can you get away with 19" Alloys?, ive heard you can as long as you dont put any weight other than you and a passenger in the car.
I quite like the alloys with 4 circles in, like you see on some Lambos and the Kournisegge
i also quite like these : www.rochfordtyres.co.uk/product.asp?P_ID=188&strPageHistory=search&strKeywords=5x114&numPageStartPosition=3&strSearchCriteria=any&PT_ID=all&Make=TVR&Model=Cerbera%204.5&strSize=19"

hehe, yeah i cant quite make my mind up about them yet.
Haven't seen any on a Cerb, but i think they would look good

I've seen quite a few nice looking alloys on ebay recently which i've been tempted to bit for or buy.
Can someone confirm that the size I would need is:-
18" x 7.5"
114.3 PCD x5
Offset 42mm
I've seen quite a few in these measurments and looking at previous threads this seams to be the size for cerbs.
I have read different things about the offset though?

Think the spiders front's are indeed a 42mm offset, however they are an 8.5" rim. My basic understanding is that this is already a compromise, the rim is wider than ideal (hence tricky tyre choice for fronts) and the offset pulls the wheel into the body quite a lot to compensate (i.e not rub the arches), that it turn causes probs with turning circle and you have to fit stops to limit it. Now with a 42mm offset on a wheel that is only 7.5" wide, you might find the wheel disappearing into the arch somewhat - Not sure about the 17's but I know the 16" Cerb wheel is 7.5" wide and the offset is 35mm so if you can find a wheel 7.5 wide with the same 35mm offset then that would be better, all you have to do then is match the rolling radius with your tyre choice, you could of course use a 7mm spacer (or close as possible to that) on the wheels you have seen, to bring it back out to nearer the 35mm offset but many people would say steer clear of spacers on a Cerb.

... and the original XR3s weren't they ?
Hi, I have not touched the arches and they occasionally rub, just returned from a 2500 miles
weekend trip to Spain with my brother (neither of us are small chaps) and the only
time they rubbed was going over large expansion joints on bridges and flyovers.
Also the car is set up very low (see photo)
Hope this helps

bad quality pics here - they look really nice. Check out the rarerims website for a better picture of the wheels themselves.
