If I replace the runflats on my 1 series with proper tyres will I have any problems with BMW assist if the wife calls them up and says I've got a puncture can you help me use the tyreweld?

Should not make any difference IMHO, best to check though. I plan to change the run flats on 535d when they wear out and replace ordinary tyres, means carrying a spare though. Actually just had a thought, is there a jack?

Dr.P raise an interesting question. Tyres wear out and you should be entitled to replace with whatever you want and still expect BMW Assist. The problem is, at least on the one series, that I don't think there is even space designed in for a space saver type spare. The jack is also not standard and needs to be ordered separately (also no wheelbrace etc).

So it's some sort of tyreweld then......

Indeed there is a space for some tyreweld.. but like you say the 1 series has no Jack so it will require the services of either BMW assist or RAC type caper...
