Off to Le Mans next month. Does anybody know where I can get some stuff to put on the headlights so I don't dazzle the on coming traffic? or is it a case of don't drive in the dark?

I've never bothered in France either. I don't suppose its mattered as I have never driven in the dark on the other side of the channel. If I am not expecting to drive after dusk, I wouldn't bother.

Often take my Tuscan 1 across to France and have never bothered with h/light deflectors.
Frankly speaking, on dipped they are about as as dim as a Toc H lamp (that dates me) so virtually impossible to dazzle our French friends anyway.

Thanks for the replies chaps. My dipped headlights are pretty bright. I wont bother doing anything to them but I think I'll take a roll of black insulation tape just in case.

I've got to admit to never bothering changing my headlights when venturing to France, but I've only been there for a couple daytrips in the Tuscan.

Here's a file I picked up from pistonheads ages ago showing how to changes the headlights on a Tuscan (not sure if Tuscan 2 uses the same lights to be honest). It looks like a loosen screw, twist headlight, tighten screw job.

Got me thinking now I am off to France in July in my Tuscan mk1 & have Gas discharge headlights (pretty bright!) will I need to do anything? Also do I need anything else as a legal requirement? Been told I may need a warning triangle etc?

Thanks

I haven't been for a while but it was always compulsory to carry around a triangle AND was completely illegal to have any sort of speed detection equipment. Even if it is not being used, if they see it they will pull you over and fine you heavily.

As I said earlier mine are gas discharge lamps, and never bother to correct, I DID take the kit though just in case. Opps sorry officer I forgot! I’ll do it now.

Driving in France you need the must haves.
Triangle
First aid kit
Spare bulbs

I also took a spare throttle cable and an assortment of fuses, WD40 and gaffer tape.

Pleased to say didn't need any of them. 1600 miles of unadulterated pleasure. OH
