Clutches

Hi team

Going to change my clutch soon. General consensus says that fitting an upgraded one is good practice. The two I am considering are-

AP racing plate and green spring cover.
V8D jobbie with extra fingers.

Does anyone one have real experience of these items?

Fitted the uprated clutch V8D supply and I find it's a vast improvement over the standard clutch. It's not the cheapest but worth the money in my opinion. Doesn't feel any heavier, has more feel and grabs the flywheel positively whilst being driveable in town.

Think the wrappers said AP but no part number visible, I remember looking for future replacement. Speak to Shaun at V8D, he intimated it was made to their spec so may be only available thru them...

I've had an AP Green Spring clutch in my 4.3 Wedge for 4 or 5 years now. Copes fine with track days and the engines 325 lb. ft of torque.

i very recently fitted a new clutch on my 500 griff, this came from tvr car parts cost of about £340, but noticed that the plate had Borg and Beck stamped on it.

Ive decided to go with the AP Racing unit, If its good enough for John Eales etc then thats fine with me. I have souced one in nearby Warwick so I will collect and it next week.

Same make but from TVR power for me....

Mine actually ended up coming from tvr power as car parts were out of stock, but supplied one from tvr power.
