Excel - H E L P

I have absolutely no idea what has happened, but in excel worksheet, the toolbar across the top which says:-

File, Edit, View, Insert, etc etc

now appears down the left hand side of the screen, the whole thing has sort of turned on its side, any idea how to get it back to the top of the screen>
