Ask for Troy

Took my other car there last week for a full corner weighting and suspension set up.

They are one of the few places I know that actually do it properly on a high quality levelled floor.

Or, slightly further I guess, Guglielmi Motorsport, www.scaredstifff.com in Daventry. Suspension Gurus.

Or, I've just had some work done at, and was very impressed with, Racing Developments in Milton Keynes;

Just back from having basic alignment done here. A bit surprised by the settings recommended and applied (combination of toe-in at the the rear, and toe-out at the front) but car feels nice and planted...pointy but predictable so far. The fella seemed to know his stuff and was certainly familiar with TVR foibles.

Toe out at the front? Gosh, you wouldn't normally do that for a road car. Let me know how you get on with it?

No, I know Pete, which was why I was surprised... his theory was that toe-in (ie say, as per the factory recommendation) would be prone to inducing understeer, switching to abrupt oversteer without much feeling on transition. He acknowledged the toe-out would encourage oversteer from the off but provided the car was stable feeling and the driver knew it was pointy, then the overall response to inputs would be more predictable. He stated figs in mm of -1 each at the rear and +2 at the fronts. I didn't argue the toss as I like to keep an open mind to advice I'm buying and the place was clearly awash with pukka track kit.

I've not pushed it at all yet as I'm playing with a complete new suspension set up too, but it feels fine so far. Time will tell... got any soft hedges your way?
