*** MAY COMPETITION WINNERS ***
Discussion
firstly, thank you all who took part in both the 'suck it and see' and 'the official entries' threads.
have to say, i've learnt alot from this experience on how utterly subjective what it is we are all doing.
i gave some not very subtle clues of what i was looking for, of what turned me on - as for this, it was only my opinion that mattered... that is, if you wanted to win...
so, so many of my favourites from the 'suck it and see thread' were dropped in favour of what the artists themselves felt was right. fairplay. not selling-out and sticking to what you feel, is way more important than what i want. is way more important than winning.
good on you.
that said, when you've entered what you felt was right on it's own merit and it hits my spot. ding! well, that is what this particular one was all about.
i'd like to add my encouragement and thank you to all the noobs - some great attempts - build on them.
next worthy merits.
dcw@pr's sleeping beauty - lovely. paul.b's wheel - very, very well done. badbeachbuggy's timeless couple - excellent, though i really, really loved your elivs in red pic. timals blue guy in a crowd - stunning pic. major bloodknok's girl on a beach - very nice.
god, i waffle when i've had a glass or two.
enough.
third place: superlightr's girl on a wire - totally sums up what being a kids is all about. well done.
second place: rhubarb's pic of a family photo - beautifully captured moment. i only wish that they might see it too. excellent.
but first place for me is g stacey's bikers on a break. what a fantastic picture. it has everything. style, a story, composition, atmosphere, it's missing nothing. absolutely brilliant image without a shadow of a doubt. my hat is off to you. superbly done and totally, and utterly encapsulates the brief.
first place g stacey.
over to you, g stacey...
thanks again all who had the courage. keep at it...

Wow, really pleased to have even been considered especially with such a late entry, had been hoping to post it a while ago, but server problems which managed to fix themselves just before the deadline. So thanks very much.
However Mr Stacey, that is a stunning shot, I thought it would be the winner from the moment you posted it, really really is a fantastic shot

Excellent. Thank you very much. Looking forward to Junes brief.

P.S. Do I win a TVR?

lol what a cad you are!

Excellent shot Graham, well done
Any ideas for June yet? I am eager to start shooting properly this month
Sorry edit to add, the winning shot just goes to show it doesnt matter what camera you have to enter this competition, just read that graham took it with a disposable camera
