Peeps,
Looking at getting an AGP card from ATi. I know that the bus is on it's last legs with PCI-E now here, but i can't justify spending £xxx on upgrading an older P4 model. I just want a newer card so that i can run 2 screen at the same time.
My current choices are the ATi X800 card and the ATi X1600 card both will have 512MB of vid memory, but i don't know which will be the better choice (both are the same price) I've seen the x1600 and it has a 128bit bus running at 800Mhz, but the x800 has a 256bit bus running at around 450Mhz (i reckon this could be clocked though).

Does anyone know which is the better card or know where i can compare these two models?

thanks

DJ

What do you need it for, apart from multiple screens?

If you don't play games matrox offer solutions far superior to ATI.

Sapphire do a nice X800 card that has a massive heatpipe-type passive heating solution (actually there's a fan for when it's hot..) that is silent - handy as modern cards can be quite loud.

I have it. Decent card, can't run full graphics on the newest games but performance isn't bad at all.
