LHD v RHD 996 - thoughts???
Discussion
Hi guys, after 8 happy and trouble free (and RMS leak free) months the silver C4 is going (via Phil at www.911sport.co.uk, sorry for cheeky advert!).
Looking to replace her within 3 months with another 996 and am tempted by the saving of LHD. Anyone had experience of owning/running a LHD 996 over here (BTW, about 30% of my 'Pork' miles are in Europe in each year).
What are the downsides (apart from overtaking on twisty roads), how much more trouble are they to sell on, any recommendations for good sources (already in touch with www.lhdporsche.com) or is it easy enough to source myself and arrange import?
Cheers all!

I have a LHD GT3 - no issues at all using it in the UK as a road car (as well as track use). I went for LHD because of price ultimately. I was looking at RHD GT3s around £10,000 more money with 25k miles on them, or my LHD with less than 2000 miles. Became a no brainer.
The only pain (& not that bad) is car parks.
Not sure about the non GT3 cars but on the GT3, you get the bigger 90L fuel tank which is far more useful than i thought it would be (I think the rhd cars are 60L).
Cheers
Ajit.
