Dear All,

I am hunting around for a Griffith 500 at the moment and remembered when Jeremy Clarkson did a review on top gear way back. Has anyone got a copy of that review because I remember watching it and it was the beginning of my yearning for a Griff. If anyone has got a copy may I borrow it? If not does anyone know where I might get one? Thanks in advance.

It was also on one of his videos... Clarkson on cars or something... and also on a TG video... when Tiff drove it.

I think I remember that. It seemed impossible that I would ever own one - it was a glorious Top Gear moment with him prancing round, incredulous at the Griff and especially the noise... ... if I remember correctly!

Someone had a couple of clips on their website - a white, pre-500 Griff? (And the Cerbera outrunning a pack of interesting stuff...)

JC also had a blue-ish one... drove it through Switzerland and enjoyed the exhaust blowing daisy about in a field...

Think it was a 500, definitely white, it featured in 'Clarkson Unleashed on Cars' or something similar

Theres a book called TVR Performance Portfolio - (Brookland Books) which has magazine reveiws of all the cars from 1995-2000 including the Clarkson reveiw from Top Gear in 98 on the 4.3 Griff, Griff 500 vs Triumph Daytona, Griff 500 95 road test etc - I think you can get it from the TVR Club web site for £12.95.

Performance Portfolio '95 to 2000 p82 can send you a copy if you wish. He drives it across France and is "converted"--all this of course went by the board when he voted TVRs "uncool" in a recent Topgear programme

If you look at the posting 22nd july 2002 "is N244 KCW still alive" there's a link to the Clarkson clip of the white Griff ,and the Cerbie standing start race.

I think this is it......

http://website.lineone.net/~steve_lemmon2/TVR.wmv

It's a big old download (6Mb), and only the 1st 30 seconds is about the Griff. Then it's a race between a cossie and espirt. Then an almighty race between loads of supercars (including a Cerbera). I just love hearing Clarkson say "Whoa, look at that TVR!!"

How dare he put us in the uncool catagory!!

Hi Geoff!
Thanks for email. Tried to send you the article but made the usual balls up of the job ( I am NOT alas very computer literate). Please give me an address and I will send you the complete portfolio (gratis). I do have two copies and you are welcome. I can also send you copies of other relevant articles.

I nearly bought it when was for sale at the factory - 3 year ago or thereabouts. A chap that worked there recommended it & told me it was as a "fast one" !
