Just got off the phone with Parrs who have been carring out an independant check on a MK1 GT3 I put a deposit on last week

All is well - they think it's a very nice cared for example that has sen minimal track work

So this time next week (after a service and roll cage is fitted) the fun will start !

Cant wait - not been this excited about the arival of a new car for a long time !

Congratulations.

I can guarantee that your grin will only get bigger once you've got the car.

I feel sorry for you! These GT3s are really terrible cars apparently. I've heard they're too hard to drive, uncomfortable, noisy....

...oh well, I suppose we'll just have to put up with it!

I second what John says: if I were you, I'd start both rueing and lamenting now.

Go on, start rueing.

Hi nervy, how's that pesky GT3 going, anyway? I bet you wish you hadn't bothered, especially with those nice BBMs and JRZ dampers....

My RS is ghastly. Jumps around makes all sorts of noises, no heated seats and I got lost trying to do the weekend Waitrose run cos no satnav. I hate it. Think I'll take it to the 'Ring and punish it. Thank goodness I didn't get one of those real he-man 993 thingys

ooo, its awful. I hate it. I particularly hate the way it looks. and the way it sounds. and the way it goes. ooo, and the way it stops. and its not once made me laugh out loud like a mental patient. i hate it.

in fact, just today as i was sitting in traffic somebody got out of their car behind me and knocked on the window just to tell me they loved my car, and I had to set them straight. shit, shit car i said. I should have purchased the hardcore, reliable appreciable asset that is a 300 year old 993 I said. that showed them, and no mistaking.

kids of today, no respect.

I'm sure you'll love it. I've had my Mk1 for two and half years and its without doubt the best car I've owned or driven.

Congratulations!! I took delivery of the speed yellow one advertised on this very site only yesterday. If the few non motorway miles i did ( in the dry!!)were anything to go by...the car is a revelation - beyond anything I had expected!! I hope you enjoy it as much as i know I will. Can I just take this oportunity to thank all those who proferred advice while I was looking. All the deliberation was worth it. What an exclusive club to be a member of! One quick question....was the OPC warrenty worth having? Too late to change my mind - I've done it now - blame Chris Harris (last weeks Auto Car article). Anyway, to all those who are blessed with the burden of ownership - Does the grin ever leave ones face?

Congrats to TCB and Jonny F. A GT3 in time for the summer

Look forward to pics from you both.

For anyone else out there thinking of taking the plunge, there are a few nice GT3's in Autotrader at the moment.
