Is anyone out there buying used Caterhams? I've been trying to sell mine for a few months, and no interest. Its a good car, nothing wrong with it and fairly priced.

Does anyone know where I should be advertising it?

Last two I have had sold within a week of advertising them.........in my view view they have to look good value or they stick.

its a 1.6 roadsport, 2001. Good condition, factory built, lim slip, wide track front. Its on here under caterham classifieds. www.pistonheads.com/sales/67528.htm

It was up for 13500, but I just reduced it to 12500. Ive had two enquiries this week, which is more than I had over the past few months. I think its just timing, and the weather hasnt been very good.

sent cheque to lotus 7 club about a week ago but havent heard yet. Would be better if you could register online, and get straight onto the blatchat.

I was one of the people who enquired recently, but when I called, you were not sure if it had lsd or not and were unclear about other aspects. It didn't make me feel very confident about the car I'm afraid, so I left it there. IMHO, you need to list everything about the car and provide really good quality pictures to get people interested.

Presumably a 5 speed?...is it an ex racecar?...it's low miles kind of suggest it might be an ex Academy or Grad car????

Worth sticking that sort of stuff in the ad...doesn't seem too pricey in all truth

Ergie,
I joined the L7Club a few months ago and got a reply back within days, despite the fact that they were in the middle of changing Membership Secretaries at the time. Try an e-mail to memsec@lotus7club.co.uk.

As for your car, it looks very smart, but the photos perhaps don't do it justice. Maybe like in those damned House style TV programmes, you could stage a setting, you know nice bit of greenery, bright sunshine etc. Plus it looks like a converted racer, as it doesn't seem to have a central handbrake, reinforced by the outside battery cut-off (and racing photo!). That could be putting off buyers who want a standard Roadsport.

Good luck with the sale.
Alan.

Far too many of the adverts on the classifieds are short on technical info , and tend to rely on meaningless descriptions , be better if they had list of age, engine , gearbox , axle type , mileage , mot , tax , recon if any etc ie specifics. I am looking for a caterham as well.
