Hi

I've tried to replaced a knackered steering column UJ but couldn't get the old one off. On replacing the two bolts, one snapped
The bolt in question is on the top UJ connecting it to the steering column and I can't find anything that will do as a temporary measure. I've got to get it to a garage in the morning and I need to drive about 25 miles. Will it be safe to do so?
Any advice appreciated.

Cheers

Roy

25 miles with bolts missing from the steering column sounds potentially very dangerous indeed.

Look at it this way - If the other bolt snaps of lets go where would that leave you ? I would get it trailered to the garage or find somewhere more local who can sort it out.

Thanks for the advice. I have managed to get a long high tensile bolt from a neighbour and will cut it down to size and fit before driving.
