Just been browsing the Team GTM site, and I saw this bright yellow Libra with spoiler and front splitter. I was also very surprised when I noticed the little PH smiley in the corner of the windscreen!

Hi Paul,
No, my previous name wasn't a numberplate. I do have a private plate with my initials on it, but its not m1spw - theres a long story behind the name but I got bored of it and people thought it was my numberplate, so I switched back to one of my old screen names, southpaw

Yep, thats mine!

It was a vvC powered car,2 years old with 7k miles and i thought I got a bargain paying £8.750 for it when similar cars were going for 10k+. But it was very poorly finished and specced compared to most and I have spent nearly 3k getting it to that stage! I have fitted 305mm 4pot brakes (it had metro UNvented ones!!!), lightweight alloys, splitter, spoiler, Red Recaro's, full charcoal alcanara re-trim, new servo, master cylinder, Mp3 player, steering wheel, video camera system, lots of black detailing around windows, removed so much glue from things you wouldnt believe, fixed a few bodges (!), intake kit, .... the list goes on. I didn't really know what to look for when I viewed it and got what i paid for really. But I am glad you like it, makes the effort worthwhile!

It's having anti-rollbars fitted in august then I am putting a 50 bhp progressive wet nitrous kit on it to boost torque, kepping the 7,200 rev limit. Theoretically it should'nt blow up!

Yeh man, it looks awesome! I'm a big fan of GTM Libra's and Spyders. I was taken round Oulton Park a few months ago in a Spyder, and hopefully another PHer will let me have a ride in his Libra in a couple of weeks time

When you look at it, you must know its worth all the effort. It really does look amazing mate. I'd have a Libra now but I can't afford it - maybe in a years time though once insurance costs have gone down a bit hopefully!

Me likes the look of that splitter. Payday can't come quick enough

I'm on a similar quest, although my car has been put together well. It already has a new steering wheel, horn & alarm. It's getting a simple radio, new radiator fan, new brakes (currently Metro Vented), front spoiler (it is far too jumpy at speed) and a new interior (paint the yellow dash black, retrim the seats and put the new style door cards in).

I love kit cars. Money pits, but oh so much fun!

oh, suppose I better add "fix the engine" and bolt the seats down properly The passenger seat has come loose now, makes an awful racket to the extent I thought my gear linkage was falling off

Furyblade, do you ever get any interest shown in your front number plate by the BiB? I've seen some small ones stuck on the bonnet before, but that's gotta be up there with it's minimalism!

I have never had any bother about front number plates! I run my fury fireblade with NO numberplate for a year, and the Libra with none for a a couple of months. I am MOT'ing it in the morning as of to France friday so I have had a normal size sticky one made. The Fury only ever had a small front one and despite plod pulling me twice they never mentioned it. I dont think it is as obvious on a kit car, they stick out like a sore thumb on a "regular" car.

Just as a footnote to Lee's post regarding spec.... My own Libra is still fitted with it's original Metro brakes and since I don't track it, they are fine and the feel is great. My wife can stop it too and she's no Fatima Whitbread!! I stay away from tracks with it though.....

hmm, mine feel quite squishy and whilst stop me nicely don't have much feel at all. Might be the pad, fluid or something I guess.
