186 mph on the M27 this morning.....

.....according to my speedo which is clearly knackered.
It was fine when I put the bike away on Friday but as soon as I started it up this morning it showed 97, then 186, then 130 and it kept flashing up a different speed every second even though it was still in neutral on its stand. Once out on the road it calmed down a bit but every few minutes went a bit mental again and started flashing up random speeds.
Does anyone know what might be causing this? It's an SV650s with digital speedo readout. Presumably there is a loose sensor somewhere but I'm not sure where the pick-up is. Is it off the gearbox somewhere? Any advice would be much appreciated.

The bike is just over 2 years old so I hope it's not a case of needing new clocks.
The sensor looks like it could be in a position to pick up moisture easily and as it has just been sitting still since Friday and we've had really crappy weather an electrical fault seems the most likely.
Time to dig out the WD40....
