And it's got to be a GT3 rather than the Turbo.
Finally drove a Mk1 GT3 on the weekend and love both the cars but the GT3 feels ALIVE! I'm sure it won't make as good a daily companion as a Turbo but even popping to the shops would be a thrill!!

Well done Chris , you've made the right choice 
As you say, the GT3 feels so "alive" compared with the Turbo
As regards the Gmund car, I drove it before buying my Zanzibar red car.
It's a nice example with the benefit of being a 2001 car (eleccy release for the boot and hood)
The colour is superb (but a mare to keep clean) hence I went for Zanzibar red one.

Interesting that you have been through the same thought process as I have recently - I ended up buying a Mk1 GT3 as well - (in blue !) pic it up at the weekend all being well.
I looked at that lapis car - very nice but quite strong money I thought ?
Are they offering you a good deal on it ?

hehe - is it possible to like both cars? I can't fault the Turbo for doing it's job brilliantly, and I feel the same about the GT3. The GT3 just feels like it will be more `right` for me at the moment

Looks nice (and I love Zanzibar) but it's 45k with paint fixed, has 15k more miles on it and is a clubsport when i'd prefer the leather buckets, no fire extinguisher etc (although a cage would be cool) of a comfort based car. Plus it's more likely to have done 47k miles round a track!
For roughly the same price i'd rather go for the one with less miles and a rock and roll history I think

Took delivery of the speed yellow GT3 Mark 1 on friday last. I too considered a turbo but went for the mark 1 instead. Paid a little less than the price you are being quoted but with only 13,000 miles a two owner car in perfect condition and every piece of paper since its birth. Having monitered prices for the last few months, they seem to be going only one way at the moment and it's not down. Get in there!!!!! As to the car - it feels lighter than the Caterham R300 I had last year which is really saying something. Otherwise, apart from the way it sounds, accelerates, stops, goes round corners and has the ability to squeeze a smile on the face that doesn't really fit....it's pretty average!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT.

Does anyone know the Mk2 Colbalt car from same dealer?
It's been offered by Strasse earlier this year (I'm not sure if Gmund have bought it now, or whether it's on SOR with them)
it looks stunning in the flesh, Cobalt is a superb colour. With the stainless cage and ceramics its a cracking example/spec, but it's right at the top of the pile money wise.
I was sorely tempted by it when I went to look at the Lapis Blue Mk 1, but couldn't justify the extra money over a Mk 1 (though I'm sure lots have............... and will continue to do so !)
But I have no regrets buying the Zanzibar Mk 1
At the risk of upsetting all the diehard 993 RS owners out there, the GT3 is just sooooo much better ! 
(for road use at least) before the RS guys start
