Longest without your TVR?

While I know that my car is in excellent hands, I still want it back ASAP. I miss that noise! It's been out of my hands for 2 months having the engine stripped and rebuilt with lots of new ancillaries.

How long have you been without your P&J and what was wrong with it?

Been without the Tuscan since end of Jan as the engine siezed, so 4 miserable months! Engine is now fixed, just waiting for it to go back into the car, but not in time for a trip to France this weekend sadly.

When I first found PH there was a chap who had a Tuscan for 16 months and it was on 'holiday' for 11 of them...

mine was out from Xmas day till early May (4 months)- more to do with moving house than anything else. Middlewich MOT were happy to put it into there compound and work on it when things were quiet.

BUT NOW ITS BACK.

June to end_Dec last year whilst having some mods done to the head - it was a development work in progress though so was expected as parts were specially commissioned. I really missed the Cerb during the summer but the wait was deffo worthwhile - she's running fantastically now.

Off the road again as of Thursday awaiting a new clutch (rocking horse and sh1t spring to mind) but hopeful the guys at Silverstone Performance will resolve that little problem a bit quicker

15 years. Sold our old S in 1991 and bought it back in 2006. Nothing wrong with the car, more the owner.

A sad thing, a good thing (or two) and a funny thing about this story:

SAD - I was without the Tuscan for three months in 2003 for an engine re-build after a rocker arm broke. I was told it'd be away two weeks (!) and the delay meant missing the Gumball Rally - the only time I would have entered.

GOOD - it happened just within the warranty period. And, having learned how to look after the engine at that point, it has subsequently been a beauty!

FUNNY - I found a receipt last night for a courtesy car type thing I had at the time, apparently - some sort of Seat. I remember buying a motorbike to get me around BUT I HAVE NO RECOLLECTION WHATSOEVER OF THE REPLACEMENT CAR!!!!!! Says it all really TVR vs. normal cars.

He's converting it to LHD to get it into the Philippines.

11 Months for me with The Yellow One.
But it was like getting it for the first time again when I picked him up.

And after some extensive work was like driving a new one.

But now the right man is on the job, hopefully not too long a wait.
I've ordered the Weiss Racing nascar 6 stage dry-sump pump today (3k!!!!! got a deal though )

Dropped her off on the 5th November last year, after the fireworks under the bonnet stopped.
Going slightly mad without her....even went out and bought an Audi for those days when it's just too slippy.
Hopefully back soon....given up asking......

Commiserations to all - past, present and future.

I really shouldn't be such a cry baby but it erks me to see all these MGFs and MX5s pootling and posing around, making no noise whatsoever, with their rooves down. They need to have their Europop drowned out with a lovely burble. Damn them all to hell!

Just over 2 months last year (May/June) which were probably the hottest 2 months of the year as well whilst my car was in the bodyshop after my neighbour reversed into her.
At least I had a brand spanking new Merc SLK to play in though!

the SLK they gave you wasn't the 55 AMG by any chance Zippee? thats the only one i can think of that would have similar performance to the tiv!
