Dipped beams stopped working

Quick one before I run off to a meeting;

Turned ignition on last night and the full beams were on (lights were off) and wouldn't turn off. Turned ignition off again and then on and all seemed okay.

Drove home and then about 2 hours into the journey the dipped beams stopped working, full and sides are okay. Checked fuse and it was fine.

Any thoughts?

Check the boxes above the petrol tank in the boot for burnt out connectors. It's most likely one of those.

If it is not the fuse you might try checking the cable connector behind the light switch on the dash. The dash trim there on mine was not a great fit and used to nudge the cable. The main symptom of this was loss of dipped beam and could only get main beam. Reseating the plastic connector used to fix it.

You might need a young child with small fingers to get in there though - it's a bit tight.

Same here thats what my problem was,but stripped the whole of the light binacle to do it.

Update:

Yep, it was the control box on top of the tank. New connectors with the two wires have sorted it.
