Im taking the Mrs down to Le Mans with me this year... and I need a couple of restaurants... anyone got any ideas ??

Two places Ive eaten at before, on the way down the N138 towards Le Mans (from Alencon) justbefor the ring road there is a left turn.... think it was near a holiday camp on a little weir .... (it used to have a little sign post from the main road)

Also, I think up near mulsanne.... now this really is hazy... posh looking restaurant on its own by the side of an open stretch of road... (i think beer has fuddled my brain.... food hasnt been an issue before)

Alternatively anyone got any recommendations ? Ive got to keep HID happy

Les 7 Plats in Vieux Mans - lovely spot too and often missed. Also I'm told by the locals that "Patagruel" (think that's how you spell it, same place) is good. Maitre Kanter in the Jacobin square is great - biggest seafood platter you've ever seen. Further afield, Le Dauphin at La Ferte Bernard is excellent.

I'd second the Maitre Kanter suggestion. It's very nice.

Right on the 2nd chicane. great back drop. I stayed here a couple of years ago for the week of the race and it was the best le mans trip yet.
Not cheap !
