Wife and her sisters bought thier mother a laptop for her birthday and we were trying to get it all set up this weekend.

One thing we struggled with was the DVD drive, and the software saying we had to change the screen resolution/number of colours or install the correct codex? to get it to work.

Anyone recommend a freeware DVD player software we can use with the right codex's that I can pull off here, burn onto a CD and ppost up to them?

Thanks

Chris

Usefull Matt! , but what about a recommendation.

Ideally I want to send them a CD with the software on rather just a codx that they have to fart about with trying to add to the XP player. (mother-in-law is almost 80!)

Its complicated as they arent having their own stand but sharing with someone or being entered into someones stand, its all very patch.

I'll be sure to swing by, saw you at Smarthome but you were always swamped with punters...
