Taken from the AA website:

Vehicle registration document - Compulsory
Vehicle insurance note - Compulsory
GB sticker - Compulsory
Warning triangle - Compulsory
First aid kit - Recommended
Fire extinguisher - Recommended
Spare bulb kit - Recommended
Headlamp convertors - Compulsory
On the spot fines - YES

Hope I've been of some help. I'm off down to the Renault garage to see about switching over these Xenon lights.

I have a small GB sticker ( about 4" x 4) on the back of my Tiger. is that OK. or does it have to be a larger GB sticker?

in six years of driving to Le Sarthe I've never had any issues with headlamps or GB badge. So wouldn't worry too much about lights if you're driving in the day.

Plus, there's no room left for a GB badge after the PH stickers have gone on!!!!

No, it has to be a large RAF style roundel on each door with 'kills' just below the window.

I'm not taking a GB sticker. They'll know by the fact I'll be driving on the left that I'm English.

I got the RAF sticker ready to go on but as I have no windows putting it under them will be a problem check my profile

I know that its something that they are getting more picky about ... i got pulled on a "random stop" last year in Pays Bas region, and they used the lack of a GB sticker to check that i had all the other compulsery safety gear onboard ... fortunately i had a bulb kit (not correct for car but they will never know) hazard triangle, first aid kit fire extinguisher, paperwork etc so they let me go with nothing more than a paddington bear hard stare!!

They were being rather unpleasant to another brit there who did not have the bulb kit and hazard triangle with him.

Think the moral here is, dont give them an easy excuse to tug them, especially as they use Le Mans as a fund raiser for French Bib's Xmas Party!

Is a spare bulb kit compulsory then? As it only says recommended above.

I don't really want to fork out £80+ for a spare xenon bulb.

Just get the cheapest from Halfords, I'm sure the Frog BiB won't actually make you change the bulbs to see if they work

I never both with any of this stuff except the docs relating to the car i.e. V5 and insurance.
Don't even have a GB sticker as I figure the number plates being different is enough of a clue.
