Vesuvius Pimps His 996

Well I have come into a few quid. Not quite enough to buy a GT2 sadly (well not without silly billy finance anyway. Also a bit bored of being offered £26k by dealers when they have identical cars on their forcourt for £35k.
So I have decided that the way forward is as follows.
1. Shiny new fat exhaust tips (RUF are favourite at the moment...)
2. Full valet and Zymol
3. Graphite Gray GT3 buckets
4. Steering wheel retrim in alcantara
Any advice on where I might get (3) and maybe (2) at a good price?
Or should I just swallow hard and buy a Turbo...................!!?

Hello mate. Common sense is mud wrestling with emotion here.
I want to change but just can't justify it. The 996 has only done 47k, has a year warranty and is running like a dream.
But I do want a Turbo........

A '3, a '2, and a 'TT.
All lovely lovely cars. BUT the cost to change is excruciating!! I am at the stage now where the 996 is costing (relatively) buttons to run. I ALWAYS do this. Run a car for 18 months and then JUST when it's getting cheap to run I go and buy something else.

so, to satiate the need to change your gonna nail some expensive parts to your current steed in an attempt to make it look different? which youll then be stuck with when you sell the car, cos people who'll want it will most likely want it 'original' (most especially since your spec is the kind that lends itself to a more relaxed buyer). doesnt make much sense if you dont mind me saying so chum.
have you considered keeping the 996 and buying something else to drive for fun? for that money you could get all kinds of fun/ track/ frivolity based-vehicles.

That is my thinking. I am going to keep my 996 for a good few years and tag on a Caterham for the fun blasts and track work.
Vesuvius, saw you turning in your gate last week.....car is looking great! Only one mod required.........a sports exhaust.....will keep you happy for the next year and make the car more saleable IMHO
