How many owners is 'too many'??

Why seek opinion? If people say condition condition condition etc.... thats fine but the reality is that people will pay a premium for low miles and low number of owners.
TVRs CAN change hand annually and so a 98 cerb could well have 6 - 8 owners. That would put me off regardless of the actual condition of the car.

Only had my Cerb for 1 month. Log book shows 3 previous owners.
However I originally purchased the same Cerb from new 6 years ago!
I sold her after 8 months due to the usual house, wife, and kids thing.
6 years on and I spot my old Cerb for sale - fate I thought!
So I bought her back.
So really she's only had 2 previous owners!

It's a tough one, I prefer car's with fewer owners, but that said, there's lots of eight owner Cerb's out there.
I bought my car from a guy who'd had it from new, his driving style was...let's say....slow, and I'm convinced the car had been treated with mechanical sympathy from cold etc.
I don't reckon he'd ever been over 3000 revs in it.
With all that in mind, I'm still throwing money at it.
You can get whoever you want to check the car over for you, but they still can't guarantee they you wont need a new engine, clutch, gearbox etc the following month.
The average figure of 3k a year for repairs & service is quite a good figure.
There's people on here who spend less than a grand a year, I'm getting close to £5k

Many thanks for the replies - I owned my Griff 500 for 18 months or so (96 on N) and I was the 4th owner, I thought that to be a high number but still sold for good money PDQ - interesting to see that general opinion is that 8 in as many years is not that unusual. Hopefully be getting myself into a Cerb in the near future - Cerb's in the city looks like a near perfect day out !! Happy motoring !
I think Cerbera's can change hands quite rapidly as people's situations can change quite quickly.
Kids come along, businesses goes t*t's up, new business comes along, getting divorced, nagging wife, new house, etc etc.... and when this happens, you suddenly see the amount of money you have sitting on the drive and the option to sell is too strong.
You'll also have the people who just want one and buy it without realising how much money they cost to keep on the road. After getting a shock at the first couple of bills, they'll want out.
In my situation, I've just decided to move on to something else, but the Cerb has left big boots to fill.
