996 - Creaking rear suspension

Anyone had this issue? I've got a 2001 Y C2 Cab - 35k miles - suspension seems to creak at low speed

It's fairly common. The bushes in the front wishbones have a limited lifespan and start to creak. I had this happen on my old car a few years ago ('98 996 C2). The only remedy is to replace the wishbone. Seem to recall it cost me about £280 ish all in at an independent. Although that figure was only for one side (driver's side).

IIRC correctly, I remember a story in 911&PW regarding similar 964 suspension problems and a method of replacing the bushes only. Will try to dig out the article from my pile of mags in the garage.

Does this apply to the REAR suspension as well? I'm assuming it could just be down to dry joints as the car has done very few miles in the last 12 months - mostly over speed bumps in London.

Could try a bit of wd40 on the bushes see if it cures it.

The suspension arms are identical front to back....never had 1 on the rear creak but alot on the front.. you can try the wd40 but youre wasting your time it works for the whole of 2 minutes then starts creaking again.
