I have had two quotes for a 36k service in south wales on my Chim400, 1999. Both garages are referenced on the TVRCC South Wales website.

Roath Garage Cardiff Quotes £550
Fforest Garage Swansea Quotes £360

Both stated it was a "big" service, both inc. VAT, and parts.

Anyone had experiences (good or bad) with either, or comments on the prices.

Hi Rob

As previously mentioned, Peter at Roath garage has a good reputation and I have always found him both fair and helpful.

Hi Rob

I have used "Fforest Garage" for the last 12 months for my chim500 (see profile)

Ron (the owner) is the RO for the South Wales TVRCC. He has always provided me with a good service and excellent prices! would not hesitate to recommend him.

top bloke!

I take mine to JT Classic services, just the other side of the old severn bridge.
Serviced mine recently...came highly recommended by several people in the Bristol area.
Had no problems, Tony Gaston the owner is as staight as they come! Very helpful.

I've heard good reports about him too.
Does he follow TVR service schedule to the letter (ie exhaust off etc)?
How do his costs compare with those above?

The Roath garage quote sounds to me like it's well into dealer / top Indy money. Fforest garage sounds about as cheap as you could expect for a proper job.

Wooohooo.. mine is now all done and dusted.

A FULL 48,000 service (and yes the exhaust was off), plus it needed two driveshaft gaiters and I had a new lower temperature thermostat put in. ..oh and it had an MOT too.

£583.48 all inc. (9 hours labour, parts, MOT & VAT) very happy with that.
