Just recieved by email from a buddy that I'll be meeting at Le Mans:

From VXR website apparently, so apologies if repost.

Be aware if you are leaving it tight for the return trip like me.

I have just come back from france last night and during my stay I went to the Moto Gp at le mans on the 21st of may, I then came back through Le Mans on my way home again yesterday.(1/6/06)

As I say just a warning, But The Roads in Le mans are virtually in bits at the moment, They appear to be digging the whole place up to install a tram service, and the area is total carnage!! For the GP it took me over 5 hours to get away from the place after the race, Along with this the Roads in the current state are very VX unfriendly with large potholes in them very narrow as the tram lines are going down the middle of the road, and they have lots of large bits of wood to drive over stopping you from falling into rather large holes!!

Navigating around the lot took some time and a lot of care in the VX, I'm pretty sure that you are all camping there anyway, but just allow yourselves plenty of time to get in and out of the area, as the roadworks are all located in the vicinity of the circuit.

I'm no expert and I hope i'm wrong, but at the rate work seemed to be progressing, I would say that there is no hope of the roadworks being finished by The 24hr race.

Anyone out there have further info. on this situation? Ground clearance of my porker isn't great and this could be a pain.

Bug*er!

Funny, they always choose this time of year to do roadworks ,and people think the Brits are bad at 'war grudges '.........the French seem to go back somewhat further !

May have trouble getting there in time for the WC Match on the 15th then.....

They've been doing the tram service since before last years Le Mans, they must have moved to another part of town.

And I thought we were bad with Wembley not being ready.

I'm heading up to Calais after the race for a 10-30pm train but am planning on being at Mulsanne for the finish so I can get away ahead of the crowds
