No, it's not a joke. I have just bought a Focus ST3 in colorado red. One of my Missus work colleagues is swearing blind that the orange ones are quicker spec with a different engine. Please post all opinions on here so I can print it off and humiliate him.

I thought you could only get ST's in orange and blue?

He needs a slap about the face with a prostitute's wet bits. It was just a launch colour, now discontinued.

Same car, just a different colour. I think they're all based on ST3s though so the spec will be higher but there's only one engine for the ST.

I should learn to read really...

Of course they're faster, they're feckin orange, like a Lambergenie, innit ?

The mere fact that all STs have the same 2.5l Duratec, developing 225bhp, shouldn't disabuse him from this view in any way.

In the unlikely event of my choosing one over a Golf GTi, I'd have it in orange

I understand that they actually had to change the colour to orange from red. Apparently the red ones were too fast for the average driver. Hence the change.

Hope that clears it all up.

Four colours available Orange, blue, black and red. Orange paint is still available at £695 plus vat. I'm amazed that paint increases performance, I have been under the misconception that it was the engine. Damn I wasted £100K buying TVR's when I could have ordered a Micra with lambo paint.....

The local Ford Dealer has one in the showroom in white with the blue stripe up the side, theres also one driving round with the two stripes over the top as well - pulls it off well fair play

Is that what they're calling it these days? I'm sure it used to say "volvo"

The space shuttle is quicker in orange.

They realised that if they didn't put the white top coat on the external tanks, they could save ~500kg of weight...

And no, putting optimax in it doesn't magically give it an extra 15bhp.
