I had a cold call from the company that supplied me with my Corvette in 2003, although they were very good at the supply end with the original purchase, (but for 50k they should be) they have lost my business of late because there’s no after sales, no warrantee as promised, several things promised at the point of sale never materialised, and service work is virtually non existent and of poor quality using no GM Parts, to be fare they have lost there main asset when they moved to Hammersmith & have I think found him hard to replace, there’s been a Don, Dave & Don again, and I think someone else is there now I cant remember the name of the person who called me but he had no knowledge of my history or that of my car, other than it perhaps was due a service??
I like my car worked on with care and to be returned to me with it clean and in good condition, the issues I had were small but show a lack of care and attention to detail.

1. They never changed the original Air Filter
2. They Used and Non GM oil Filter
3. When the Pads were changed (squeakers) were not on both discs (set of 4 pads only 2 squeakers)
4. If you mention Warrantee no one returns you calls or emails
5. And not a hope in Hell of a loan car

Although I cant find the thread I understand Dominic has finally worked out how to use his computer & signed up to Piston Heads, (under a pseudo name) I would like to give him a chance to win back my confidence by addressing all the five points I have raised.

Yes,
Dominic & Stephen moved their successful business in Kingston after selling the site for development and are now at the top end of the road going to Hammersmith Bridge, and they sell American Cars

Sam Huxter :-
50th Anniversary Corvette purchased new Kingston March 2003
(My details for clarification so as not to be seen as a prankster as I don’t see Dominic replying to my post yet)

it is always difficult to find someone to care for your car the way you do
As owners all we want is honest service and communication (rahter than mistruths)

I use my Corvette freinds place in Potters Bar for servicing etc when I cant do the work myself - either Colin Shepherd (been in cccuk longer than me !!!!) or I can carry out simple servicing - I ONLY USE DELCO PARTS AND GENUINE USA 5w30 MOBIL 1

contact me (email) or Colin 0208 441 2171

I hope this helps guys

You can't really expect this company to respond to your complaints on a public forum. If you want to give them a chance to redeem themselves, I think actually talking to them would be a more reasonable way to go about it.

I think the point Sam was making is that He has given them chance to redeem themselves And have not yet done so.

Actually I have tried several times to get them to respond about a possible warrantee claim, uk Service Manual, Touch Up Paint, and a dent in my car from the PDI.
Before LeMan last year, they did half a service for me as they didn’t have a service manager and were unorganised I did my own brake pads front and back it was then I found that the front pads didn’t all have squeakers and that the pads on the front were low as there was no squeakers on one side. I still hadn’t got any response and felt let down by them in general so I had the service checked elsewhere which is when I found the after market non GM Oil Filter and a original 3 year old air filter.
When I had this cold call from ACC Service chap the other day I explained all this to him and asked him to pass this back to Dominic or Stephen, as per the norm no call from them yet.

It sounds like you're in need of them more than they are you. To be honest, there is absolutely nothing on the Vette that is hard to do. Any mechanic can understand one as it's all pretty straightforward. Best to find a good mechanic and order the parts from US Automotive and send them with the car when it needs a service.

Servicing the C5 is easy even Sam could do it

I would assume, air filter, oil filter and oil is all that the car needs, possibly brake pads depending on mileage. Don't think it would need other fluids changing yet.

The biggest danger with Vettes is that someone will jack it up on the sills or the plastic which can be very messy. Any mechanic should be schooled in the correct method of lifting one if a ramp won't suffice.

There are some 'pucks' which readily attatch to the car and provide a proper jacking point for any trolley jack. I got mine from Surbiton (you know who) but I am sure that they must be available elsewhere

Just an up date before I dart of to the train, no news from either Stephen or Dominic, I thought it would be nice of them to have the chance to enter into this discussion, its obvious they monitor this chat, just a shame I wouldn’t buy from them again.

I’m sure you will be fine,
Just check your car over, the entrance to their workshop is a steep camber on the road, and its not possible to get in there in a corvette with out scraping the front as you drive in.
See if you can get something in weighting from them about your guarantee, (I needed a headlamp motor and had a lot of trouble to get it sorted as my service book was not stamped on the PDI by and ‘Authorised GM Dealer’
And don’t accept delivery until you get everything you were promised

Its up to you where you get it serviced :-
