My family live in Bath. Talking to my mother on the phone earlier, she was telling me that an asylum seeker has complained about a St George's flag on the Police station, and apparently it has now been removed, so as not to cause offence to people from ethnic minorities. I sense a letter coming on...

if this is true, and I'll be amazed if it is, then it's time to get political, sit outside with your own flag and see what happens, write to the local press, email your MP, get a batch of T shirts with the St George cross made up and distribute them outside your cop shop, pester everyone about this......and let us know how you get on

This kind of thing is happening more and more.
The root of the problem is the simple fact that we have in power the worst calibre of people ever in the history of this once great country.
These "officials" are for want of a better descrption anally retentive.
Their idea of a fair society is to slap the indiginous white minority population in irons, and control our very thoughts.
The asshole asylum seeker(read scrounging taliban fecal particle) that made this complaint is that manifestation of those controls, that these would be leaders are using to ..er control us.
Its racism of the worst kind, pure and simple.
We arent allowed to have an identity, we arent allowed to raise our flag, or say our feckin piece, in our OWN country!!
Why? Because we're white.
This "asylum seeker" should have had his arms broken and shoved right up his whinging ass.
Then he should have been shown the door.....of the plane he was about to be shoved out of.
Preferably over his native country.
The biggest question i have on my mind over something like this is just the following,:
What about OUR rights? When are WE going to be stood up for?
I shit you not, if this goes on for much longer, there will be murder on a vast scale in this place, its inevitable with actions like these.
If it takes a civil war to break our bonds, then so be it, WE, the white population are now the underclass, question is, how long before we rise up and take back our country?

I am off out tomorrow to buy some Union Jack's. Going to put em up everywhere. I want to take my flag back from the likes of the idiot NF and BNP. Being proud of your country and flag should not make you a racist.

Isn't being told to take your flag down a violation of your right to free speech? Take it up with the European court of human rights. Once they've all stopped laughing at the state of our country, they might do something usefull!

For many years, and nothing at all to do with political correctness, it has been an offence to fly the Union Flag without local planning approval. That's one of the reasons why you never see in the UK the type of flag waving that goes on in the US. However, as far as I'm aware there is no such law against the flags of England, Scotland or Wales for the simple reason that they are not official national flags.
Only government and council buildings can normally fly Union Flags.

Local council near here refused to fly the Union Jack when the queen mum died.

The official name of the flag is the "Union Flag". It can only be called a "Jack" if flown from a ship.

I think there is also a set of strict rules as to when and on what occasions the Union Flag can be flown from official buildings. The death of the parent of the monarch is probably not one of them. If you check with your local council they will probably be able to let you have a list of these regulations.

Live abroad (continental europe). Have a BRITISH racing green Rover (oops, or Honda)with a small Union Jack on each side and a larger one on the back. If it wasn't a company car, might get the roof done in UJ colours, like you see on a lot of those German built Minis!

I have a British Racing Green Caterham 7. I've toyed with the idea of having a Union Flag enamel badge on either side of the bonnet but I'm concerned that if I ever take the car to Ireland (where I come from originally) someone might take exception to the flag and do some damage.

Had the same problem when I went over there. No damage, but got comments. On the other hand, I don't have British plates, but Belgian.

It's pathetic really. It's about time the Irish got over these historical hang-ups. I've always noticed that, in Ireland, when you see a line up of international flags, outside a hotel for instance, the Union Flag is often absent.

Nah, use an Israeli flag ... that will really get his goat.
