have had previous starting problems and now the beast will not fire at all. There is no spark at the spark plug and also cheched to see if there is a spark off the coil HT lead but nothing. Tried changing the coil and the lead, but the same, so where do I go now (apart to Halfords to take the coil and lead back)?

Only time I've ever seen anything like this the low tension on the coil had a break in it.. Wasn't a TVR, but the same would apply I guess..

From previous experience of electrics I'd be surprised if the problem was with new components, can you check one new component at a time before heading back to Halfords? Might cut down the problem area..

Only other thing I can think of would be fuses; bit obvious, but been known to be overlooked before..

The car has an electronic ignition system so the coil etc could well be fine. Clean the leads to the unit/dizzy and see if that works. After that find someone with a tester unit is usually the quickest way.
