Sorry, but I have dregged the threads on this but can't find an answer to my specific problem.
'Setting the alarm just sets it of'
Also, if I lock the car using the nob on the door opener (with keys in ignition), will the key fob then unlock the door again. Dont want to try it in case I lock myself out.

Greeny,
1. When you arm the alarm do the doors lock, or do they lock and then unlock?. If the doors lock and then unlock check for the rubber pads on the doors adjacent to the courtesy light switches on the sills. Otherwise, sounds like your alarm is knackered (I assume it's a standard Meta one?)
2. Interesting hypothesis this
, if you leave the keys in the ignition then push the deadlock button on the interior door release, then both doors will lock, the only way to get in would be to either unlock the car from the inside (assuming you're inside the car!). If you're outside the car then you can't lock the car using the security deadlock button on the door release (unless you leave your stupid dog in the car as I did - nice move!)
Hope that helps
Steve
