Do we need to have headlight deflectors and GB stickers on the bikes?

Yeah, I think the law states that you do, but I don't think everyone bothers, and I haven't heard many stories of people being pulled for it.

I haven't before in France and it's never been a problem.

Mind you they are getting more and more anti English Bikers speeding so not having them could be a red rag......

Ridden all over Europe and never had a problem not having stickers etc. If you ever get questioned its just a chat to ask where you are from. Gets much more laid back as well when you are further than a week away from UK!

the myth has got carried over to bikes, its a car requirement only, bikes exempt.
not even spare bulbs, which some bikers beleive are law, they aint.

I always carry a puncture repair kit though, you can be miles from a phone box - dont assume a mobile signal..

Absolutely agree, also pack fuses including the one for your alarm with immobiliser + small can of chain lube (motorex)
