hey everybody...it's tyre time.

i currently have 205/60 R15 tyres on the front of my car and they now need replacing. i've been on the blackcircles website and the mytyres website but there doesn't seem to be too much choice so i have a couple of questions!

firstly...is it wise to use a 'V' rated tyre (up to 149mph) i'm not going to go faster than that anyway but does this also mean the tyre won't be up to the acceleration of the car?

secondly...is it possible to use 205/55 R15 instead? am i right in saying this would put the speedometer out of wack?!

and lastly...can anybody suggest decent tyres for above if the other two options aren't recommended!!!

cheers guys

You can get the Dunlop SP9000 in a W/Z/Y rating, alternatively if you hunt around you may find the Eagle F1 GSD2s which are now discontinued. I got mine for £50 each inc p&p from www.valuetyres.co.uk, though they did only have very limited stock so it may be worth giving them a call.

cheers tony, i've been looking at those tyres for a while and they'd be great but i don't seem to be having much luck getting them with an aspect ratio of 60!

I was under the impression that 205/55 was standard fit for non-pas cars?
From my research, Dunlop SP 9000 is the only choice in Z rating.

Just out of curiosity why do you need a 60 aspect ratio? Mines a 97 with pas and I run 205/55/15.

Try these guys! www.etyres.co.uk
I got 4 Dunlop SP9000 Z rated fitted, at my house!!
Excellent prices and service. They don't have the overheads of premises to cover, so the tyres (fully fitted and balanced) are a bargain.

cheers for your replies guys, after reading what your running zippee i'm just ganna go with the same! the only reason i was ganna stick with 60 for the ratio is because thats whats there already!

i found dunlop sp9000's and goodyear eagle f1 gsd2's at www.event-tyres.co.uk , they're 20% cheaper than anywhere else i found them and they come to you...sounds good to me!
