First service: going over milage
Discussion
It won't make a jot of difference - some would even say it would improve it. When bikes are new they come with cheap old mineral oil so that everything wears a bit and beds in. At 5-600 miles service it is replaced with better oil.
Don't worry about exceeding the recommended rpm either. Just look to avoid extremes of either high rpm or high load/low rpm situations.

i wouldnt worry about it, when i bought my 600RR it was used but had low milage at about 800 i think but hadnt had its first service yet, i got the service done at 1100 miles and was told that it wouldnt even invalidate the warrenty although i dont know how much trut there is to that.
i think the Italian maunfacturers are more strict about going over the first service milage and honouring the warrenty.

I am in exactly the same boat at the moment. Got a new CBR600RR and yes the service is meant to be done at 600 miles, called them last Monday to book it in and the eariest after kicking up was the 17th. I explained that i would probably be over the 600 miles, to which they said you will bge OK up to around 1,000 miles. Started to ease it up through the revs now, taken it up to 9,000 rpm can't wait to give it some serious throttle.
Went to Hastings yesteday and it was really foggy down there, Boxhill on Saturday and a local hoon on Friday night, done 300 miles..... Let hope summer is finally here!!!
