Just interested to see how the "Pistonhead Le-Mans Massive" rate this weekend in their average year?

I have to rate the Le-Mans weekend as one of the highlights of the year for me. The freedom of acting like a baffoon for a few days without the kids seeing, drinking to the Max , the convoy down, the petrolhead overload of cars, racing and the fans, the nutty "only at Le-Mans" antics and the cruise/race back home all make it one of,if not THE best weekend of the year for me (plus leaving the kids with the parents for a few days!).
Know doubt some will say I need to get out more, but other will be in agreement with me.

Having missed last year 'cos you were in NZ you seem doubly excited this year

Last year's Le Mans weekend for me personally was really odd.

Thursday drive down was horrible 'cos of all the traffic.
Really enjoyed Friday, Arnage corner, lunch in Arnage then evening in Chateau du Loire.
Saturday morning was pants 'cos of the traffic getting to the circuit, enjoyed rest of the day but hated the drive back again 3 hours having left at 12:30 a.m.
Sunday was rubbish as my clutch went in Mulsanne car park although the evening meal was good.
Monday was shite as had to drive all the way home in a Citroen C4 / then Alpha 156 hire cars and again the traffic was pants.

I am really looking forward to this year again

Could not agree more.

11th year for me.

Having been support driver for the last 3 years am this year riding the bike with someone else taking the kit. Have already planned route with plenty of hooning opportunties. We have caravan this year with sat tv, 3 fridges for essentials and a shower!!

Only 10 days till we board St. Malo ferry and then it's Arnage here we come, not in the least bit excited!

15 of us this year with average age of 45+, sad gits one and all.

"Camp Corvette" oh! er, ducky will down near Karting Nord again this year.

20 of us have taken over a hotel about 45 minutes drive South West of Le Mans for the weekend (god help them). The hotel has an outdoor pool and a bar and restaurant.

hope the pool makes up for the inevitable time spent in traffic jams!

If the weather is as nice as last year and the traffic as bad, then I might just skip the race and spent the weekend in the pool

As far as the team Langoustine boys
are concerned the whole year revolves
around le mans.
Our twice monthly get togethers are
post and pre Le Mans nights.
either discussing what happened last year or
planning our next visit
Roll on Next Wednesday at 7am when we leave.
