just out of interest wondering what sort of money people are being quoted to insure the tvr's, i found that for myself quite surprised at how reasonable the t350 was in comparison with lotus's and bmw m3's etc, im 21 and paying just over £1300 whereas quoted nearer 3k for an m3. fully comprehensive with 3 points. think i got lucky as expected to pay double that, or is it just a tvr thing?

Yes, TVRs are surprisingly affordable to insure. I think one factor is that most accidents are single vehicle accidents (i.e. you run out of skill halfway round a bend etc.). Most TVRs are driven lower miles p.a. and usually on nice sunny days in the summer. Also, I firmly believe driving a TVR that I am safer than something less conspicuous. They're also not a big theft target (another insurance killer).

I got a good deal with First Alternative for the TVR. 9 yrs NCB, unlimited mileage, £250 excess for £550. You get discount for doing it on-line. I tried other insurance companies (even Adrain Flux) but first alternative gave me the best deal.

Hope this helps.

Yes - must be nice in Wiltshire. They want £870 from me in Leeds!

If I add the other half that's another £18 but where that comes from I don't know as she's never driven a TVR whereas I've been driving them for 20 years!

If I leave it on the drive that's another £18 as well.

Whatever happened to personal insurance quotes matched to actual risk? These days they seem to pick the quotes out of thin air.

Oh and I've got full NCB, no points etc.
