My missus of 34 years (yup..thats right! I'm an old bugger!):
hates the fact I am building one,
hates me spending time in the garage,
hates the amount of money going its way,
hates the shape so she says,
hates the idea of the large spoiler..
...and has announced...'Don't forget...you can build it but I'm not getting in there mind!'
Funny...but when we had an improptu discussion over colour last weekend..well.. interesting! She immediately got chatty and genuinely interested over the choice....now I wonder....
...I believe secretly she likes it, would never, never admit it, but does not like the fact that it competes for my attention! Women! HuH!

Did you alwyas have separate hobbies?
The money thing...well yes.... My Hubby bought into the £14k startup sales pitch and when we tried to find out how much to complete the build, noone would/could tell us. So we sat down with a calculator and tried to work out what it would cost; of course it cost more, but at least we were fairly close and could keep track of the budget.
Now I just look at it as a very fun savings plan....and i get to drive it
Never ever fails to amaze me the attention it gets.
The amount of time...well yes, but you could be spending all your time away from home, peeing your money up a wall! At least you should be within shouting distance. Nearer if you could get them involved with some small part of the build (I got to do the wiring, as Tuxman was too big to fit under the dash!!! )
As for everything else, ........perhaps it's something as simple as how to get in and out of out without making a prat of yourself?

Her indoors likes cushions, cushions, cushions, (did I say cushions?),curtain fabric, nick-nacks, moving furniture around, devising DIY improvements and then watching me sweating my Bo%%cks off implimenting the grand plan!
Me - I am Mr hands! - Love mechanical tinkering, smell of Castrol R, F1 engine sounds, harleys, getting dirty (in the oily way as well!), scaring myself, anything technical etc etc.
...but the relationship works, and has done for 37 years! Must be a miracle!
