ignition module

My engine just quit running! after being towed home, my mechanic says that there is no power to the distributor and thinks that it might be the ignition module..it is a ford something or other which apparently did not come to Canada. the car is a 280i. I believe that the module may be a D9VE-12A199-A. it has a blue plug.

Is it still available in the UK?

Probably find one somewhere. If it's the plug I think, it may just need the contacts cleaning.
