Yellow but not Mellow!

Spent the day working on the new engine. It's nearly there now! Inlet manifold is being modified at the moment. I'm still on target for engine start at the end of this month. Here are a couple of pics from a few minutes ago. I'm collecting the chargecooler designed by me on Tuesday from Pace Products. I'll soon find out if that works or not!

Hello Dave,looks really good,I wike it! I have a Vortec supercharger (very similar in design to yours) on my BMW 540 and I must say,it goes like a 'kin rocket (and by that I don't mean just once!)and it only has 400 od bhp and weighs 1.5 tons so I am thinking that you will be suitably impressed by your creation.My Ultima is soon to hit the road with a NA 434ci with 650bhp and I would like to see how the two compare.Maybe you would like to participate in some drag strip action at some time in the future?

Good luck with the mapping. Here's a couple of pics from earlier today. The gaskets are solid copper with a stainless wire inserted into a groove around each bore. The pistons are JE 23° extreme duty inverted dome.

Peter Knight was telling me about your engine when I had a chat with him at Stoneleigh. The pics of your engine look impressive. Not sure my Getrag with take all this power from a standing start! I'll just have to see how it goes. I may look at a stronger transmission some time in the future. I'd be happier doing a rolling start comparison though, maybe at Vmax.

you should beable to push that setup well into the 700bhp area with about 15psi of boost!

I'm sending you a mail about the breathers! The headers have been ceramic coated inside and out. I've not had the system done as modifications may be done to them. I want to do some track days so need to bring the noise levels down.
