Been suggested in the thread about HSV owner's in the north east of England that we try organise a tour up the West Coast of Scotland. Well I've just been out for the day around Loch Lomond and down the other side to Dunoon and the roads are absolutely amazing. Scenery aint too bad either. Can suggest anyone heading up this neck of the woods takes in the A82,A83,A815 roads if they have the time. Will post up a few pics I grabbed on the way back - give you some idea of what I'm talking about. Meantime I'm going to spend the next few weekends checking out routes all around that area - try and find some more interesting roads.

Couple of views up and down the A83 just north of the village of Arrochar at the top of Loch Lomond. Brake fade would not be welcome at the bottom of this slope as it gets very tight and twisty!!

July or August if you want any chance of getting it dry What we need to do is find out which weekend works for most people with holidays and family commitments and take it from there.

I'm away from 2nd to 16th Aug sampling Canarian wine and Tropicana beer in Fuerteventura so before then would be good for me.

We'll be holidaying in the Highlands (in the Monaro) at the end July/beginning Aug, so if a run is planned whilst we're up there we'll try and meet up.

Where in the highlands? It's good fun driving up there this time of year. Maybe Bob (Well fans) can organise the West of Scotland loop to take in your location?

Hi Jeff. We're staying near Dumnadrochit for a week, then over the next 5 days or so we're heading up to Durness and then back down the West coast via Ullapool, the Applecross Peninsula, Skye and Fort William. Quite looking forward to the Bealach na Ba over to Applecross!

Neil, We'll be passing through that way on 1st August on our way to Glasgow airport. Maybe meet for a coffee somewhere if you are about at that time. Send me an e-mail nearer the time if you like.

being so close to the Donnington event might be tough to organise anything for the 1st week of August.

Jeff - you getting Doug to pickup the car again and take it down for the brakes while you're away this time? You know you want to

To offer some local knowledge, there's a little-known road A817 that connects A82 Loch Lomond, south of Luss, with A814 at the Gareloch submarine base. Large laybyes at each end. High up view of the sub. base.
Best bit is the driving. Steep climbs and descents, nice bends and straightaways but plenty wide enough to keep it sensible. Spectacular.
I'm off there now for some more
I might be able to join anyone passing through if your tour happens.
