Any PH'ers in Oslo? I'll be there tomorrow night and Wednesday on business.

Unf. not, but out of interest you'll soon be able to fly direct from Birmingham to Oslo. Well interests me anyway, can never be arsed with London airports. Hate them hate them hate them.

If you haven't been there before, try going out in the Akerbrugge on the waterfront next to the town hall. Last time I was over there seemed to be quite a few decent restaurants/bars around there. Nice views over the fjord as well.

You're not wrong there, Jeremyc: last time I was in Norge it was £5 for an export-sized bottle of anything (i.e. 33cl)! I had a Mars bar and a can of Coke one day and it cost £2.70. Luckily I was only there for 2 days...
However the nightlife was entertaining, with the bars only STARTING to get busy by 1 AM....
Seems to be a common theme in Scandinavia: I was in Denmark with me Julie last year and the 'English Pub' in the town was busy (night before the England/Denmark match!... er, we won... )
