Fuel pump fuse?

Please help! Where is it? there are lots of references to it in the bible but on the fuse pages there is no reference to which one is the fuel pump relay
On my 97 (battery on the footwell floor, fuses above and behind battery) there is a section of the loom the floats around on top of the battery. It includes two identical relays. If either of these relays is up the spout, the fuel pump doesn't work ... I think one relay is controlled by the ECU and the other one is from the immobiliser ... maybe ... anyway, the relays are bare metal cased cubes, about 1 inch across (grimey grey colour). They should click quite loudly (easily enough to be heard if you can see them) when you turn the ignition on. They are prone to fail. The Bosch part number is ... is actually rather hard to read on the one I've got in my hand ... looks like 0 332 014 112. It's a 12V 30A relay with a diode in series with the coil.
If you can't get hold of a Bosch original, there are plenty of other 12V 30A relays with the same connector, but they may not have the diode in series with the coil. If you don't fit a diode, there is a risk that the ECU or immobiliser could be damaged.

I remember reading in the bible that the fuel pump relay has to be an electronic type or else the battery gets flattened.

Try this link - it has a discussion about the relay.

Thanks. The plot thickens. There seems to be some debate as to whether the appropriate part number is 0332014112 or 0732014112 ... David Beer and Peter Humphries both know their onions. For what it's worth, my Chim was fitted with the former relay by a TVR main dealer and I've not had any problems with the battery going flat and I'm not aware of any problems with the lambdas. Maybe the correct unit depends on the age of the car? Guess the best bet would be to replace like with like.
