Hi, I am in the process of buying a 2000 boxster s.I called Strastones about a warranty, they said they would charge me 2 hours labour(£190.00!) then if everything is ok it would be £700 per year. This car had a replacement engine 12,000 miles ago and every service apart from the last at Stratstones in wilmslow.I just want to know are these warranties bulletproof and what is not covered.I have dealt with Stratstones before with my 944 and 911 and they were really snotty with me so i am not happy about giving them my money as the independant spcialists i use(Loe bank motors, ninemeister, lodge sports) are great. Thanks.

Purely personal opinion, but I have had RMS, header tank, and a new ECU and alarm system all under warranty without a squeak of complaint in the last 12 months.

No brainer so far as I am concerned.

The Porsche Warranty is anything but bulletproof - think of it as engine insurance, don't expect it to pay out for much else and if it does its a bonus. Look at the PCGB forums and search for warranty - worth reading.

So far under warranty I've had two oxygen sensors, coil pack and an air con compressor. An Indie services the car too.

what makes you say that ? - Have you had bad experiences ? I have nothing but praise for the OPC Warranty - have claimed a few things (incl failed coil pack - they replaced them ALL not just the failed one). Yes it doesn't cover wear and tear items but that's perfectly normal for a warranty... ?
