Quick bit of advice required please.

Despite this being my 12th trip to Le Mans, I`vee never attempted to drive around on Saturday before the race. There are a variety of reasons for this, the majority involving Friday night.

We`re staying in Beausejour this year and want to watch the historic races - the Porsche curves are the obvious choice but last year they had been invaded by the Danes (and even worse) the PCGB. It was too busy, scorchio and you could see bugger all. This year we fancy Arnage/Mulsanne.

What`s the traffic like on Saturday morning around this bit of the circuit - tolerable or terminal??

TERMINAL!!!

I took us over 2 hours to go from the south end of Arnage to Karting Nord last year on the Saturday morning.

IF you must travel might I suggest either walking, cycling or driveing very early.

We stay at Arnage, can say with certainty that the traffic is worse than the M25, if you chance it be prepared for a very hot and long journey.

Main problem is the roundabout where the road past the grandstands and Parking Bleu meets the road from Arnage.....and the road straight on (from the parking Blue raod) is always shut as it links directly from the Arnage to Porsche curves part of the track.
The gendarmes are always (mis-)directing traffic on the Saturday morning and it should be simple but you get so many numpties (both French and foreign) stopping to ask directions, which of course blocks the road.

I stayed at Beausejour last year and walked early sunday before it got to hot, took a while but will be doing the same this year. Although are thinking about doing it Saturday night night depending on how drunk we are, would be nice to see the glowing discs though
